This course will review the basics of how ventricular assist devices work, how to monitor patients and assess potential complications. This training is designed for those who assist with VAD patients.
Identify components, function and theory of ventricular assist device, describe VAD alarms and emergency care, identify and manage potential complications associated with VADs, and verbalize how to contact a VAD team and find additional resources available for VAD learning.
