In 2020, pharmaceutical companies turned to their PR professionals and agencies to get out messages about drug supply, patient support, public health reminders, vaccine updates and COVID protocols. However, now it is more important to focus on "the next normal" and understand how healthcare and pharmaceutical professionals can improve relationships with the public and their employees in this 'post covid-19' world.

Communications professionals held a pivotal role in strengthening the bond between the public and pharmaceutical brands. However, there is a bit of controversy within the public. Those who believe in science and the vaccine and those who are a bit skeptical on waiting on more data and have some more questions. However, professionals believe it is their time to demystify science and relay clear messages out to understand on a more simpler level on what the public wants to hear and facts compared to messaging from the FDA and the government that has not been relatively connecting with the public.
